Photo Challenge
I dont know about anyone else, but I have a house load of empty picture frames. I found this website that gives you like 5 to 10 photo challenges month to month. I thought this was kinda of a neat idea and a different twist on the challenge lots of people are doing where you take a picture every day. I even thought about having the kids do a smaller version of the challenge and putting it in a photo album and have them journal a few sentences about what made them choose that particular object to photograph. It might be fun to see what they come up with!!!

Student of the Year
Ryan qualified for Student of the Year!! He was selected for his grades, his standardized test scores from last year and by teacher recommendations. It was a very long process. He had absolutely no interest in winning it though lol. One of his classmates won in the long run but just being considered is such a great honor for him . I am very proud of him!!!
Sidney's Softball Try-Outs
Well this week Sidney tried out for her middle schools girls softball team. There were 58 girls who came out on the first day and it was cut down to 25 for the second day. Sidney made the first cut and was super excited. She plays really well so we thought she really had a good chance of making the team. So on the second day as she was getting up to bat, on THE FIRST PITCH thrown to her, the girl who was pitching pegged Sidney right in the wrist. BADLY! They put some ice on her wrist and she was a real trooper about it. Even tried to bat again so she could finish out her try out but could barely hold the bat much less swing it. She was unable to finish trying out. The next day she found out she hadn't made the team. Jarrod ended up taking her to the ER and found out she has a fractured wrist and is in a make shift splint like cast until she can be seen on base this coming week. I really felt bad for her. Her wrist has these really nasty bruises on it and she has alot of pain with it. Poor kid. So between breaking her foot 2 days before basketball try-outs and now this, I swear we are going to have to put that girl in bubble wrap before she attends any more sports related try outs LOL!!!
